Update

Just a quick post to give you the latest on Gabrielle. She had 2 more seizures early yesterday morning. The seizures did not seem to generalize. She seemed to remain conscious and they lasted 10-15 seconds. We began Gabrielle on 2 medications yesterday to help suppress seizure activity. So far she seems to be tolerating them well. The last 24 hours she has seemed much more herself and is playing, crawling, and cruising.

We continue to pray these seizures will not become a pattern and that they will respond to the medicine. We appreciate your continued prayer for our little girl. Thank you all so much for your love and support.

  2. Hey guys, Paige and I were reflecting on our conversation last night and how we are amazed at God’s grace in your lives. Though this is among the most difficult things we can imagine, you have both been looking for God’s will and purpose rather than growing angry and impatient with Him. That is just astounding to me and a real demonstration of your faith that God knows what’s going on even though none of us down here do. It kind of reminds me of people like Daniel, Shadrach, Meschach and Abednego, Job and so many other pillars of our heritage who were, undoubtedly, uncertain about the future but remained steadfast in faith. We pray that God will continue to pour out his grace on your family and that through whatever he has planned for Gabrielle, you’ll remain a strong testimony for Him as you already have under such difficult times. You guys are, to use one of Duff’s favorite terms, “amazing”. :) Hang in there and know we are all praying for you and your little one.

  4. Amen, David. I, too, am greatly encouraged by the love the O’Melias show for God in there desire to submit to His sovereign will. I cannot claim to understand how hard this may be at times. We will pray for Gabrielle and the rest of your family, Duff, every time you come to our minds.

    Please know that we will be lifting your family up specifically concerning these seizures. Thank you for the testimony that you are giving…May God continue to be glorified! It’s been a struggle of late for me in many ways…God’s been speaking to me a lot through this passage lately…maybe it will encourage you as well. Phil 4:4-9 “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
